This week has been all about preparing our preschool children for their exciting transition to reception, while also supporting our toddlers as they get ready to move into their preschool rooms. Our preschool children have been excitedly talking abut their school visits, where they explored their new classrooms and met some of their future friends. They have been sharing their own ideas about what school will be like, making links between their experiences at nursery and what they might do at school. Through a variety of activities, they have been encouraged to explore, find out, ask questions and develop their independence, showing a willingness to “have a go” as they build confidence for this important next step. Our toddlers have also been taking part in transition activities to help them become familiar with the preschool environment , encouraging them to explore new experiences, build relationships and gain confidence as they prepare for their move.
